Issues concerning property tax and rental laws will be among the subjects spoken about at today's Scottish Association of Landlords' major conference and exhibition in Edinburgh.

The private landlords event, dubbed National Landlord Day, will take place at Dynamic Earth in the heart of Scotland's capital city.

Landlord law will be discussed, as will the topic of local authorities and private landlords working together.

Carl Bayley, author and property tax expert, will provide information on how landlords can save money.

The event will also see Alex Neil, minister for housing and communities, address the delegates in attendance. He will use his keynote speech to launch the Scottish government's review of the private rented sector.

Earlier this month, the association reminded landlords that the Gas Safe Register replaces the Corgi gas registration scheme as Great Britain's gas safety authority on Wednesday April 1st.
