Landlord advice will be provided at an event in Reading next week, it has been announced.

Kay Dickinson, the University of Reading's accommodation officer, said that a special evening has been organised so that private landlords in the region can mingle with the members of the local council and university to discuss industry issues.

Subjects such as general landlord responsibilities and good practice will be discussed.

The evening will take place on Wednesday April 22nd between 18:30 and 21:00 BST –just hours after the chancellor Alistair Darling's 2009 Budget speech.

Ms Dickinson explained: "The university and the borough council has built up a strong relationship with many local landlords and this is demonstrated by the increasing popularity of this event in recent years."

Landlords will be able to discover ways to market their properties to the student market in Reading and its surrounding areas.
