A buy-to-let landlord has put signs up in one of his properties to publicly shame one of his tenants.

Agostino Fabrizio owns 12 properties in Crewe, one of which his occupied by a woman who now owes him about £2,000.

Speaking to the Crewe Chronicle, he said he has become so fed up with her that he has opted to let everyone know that she is avoiding her payments.

However, Mr Fabrizio believes that his mortgage company is unsympathetic to his situation, especially considering the current financial climate.

He commented: "There isn't enough protection for landlords.

"[Citizens Advice] fight for the tenant and put the pressure on them to stay but what are we supposed to do in the meantime?"

This comes after Paragon Mortgages revealed that the proportion of landlords that applied to extend their portfolios went up during the third quarter of the year.
