BM Solutions was presented with the Best Lender for Buy-to-let Products accolade at last week's Legal &General Mortgage Club Awards.

The award - which was given to the firm for its performance in the last 12 months - may influence private landlords' next home loan finance decision.

In addition to the buy-to-let prize, BM Solutions was acknowledged as the Best Lender for Service.

Halifax Intermediaries won the main award of the evening, the Best Lender for Intermediaries, while Nationwide for Intermediaries was presented with the Best Lender for New Media.

Ben Thompson, director of mortgages at Legal &General, said: "It's been an extremely difficult 12 months, but these lenders are showing that they can do well by maintaining very high standards."

Legal and General's prize-giving ceremony came at the end of a week when the Bank of England revealed 43,200 mortgages were approved in May.
