The price of homes in the UK is rising "without a shadow of a doubt", according to the chief executive of property investment adviser group Assetz.

Stuart Law claimed that values will firm up in the coming months - and this is one of the reasons estate agents are currently showing confidence in the market.

Recent reports on the lettings market have indicated that private landlords may also find that now is a good time to make a buy-to-let investment.

Mr Law said that agents are more positive about the direction the sales sector is taking "not least because they are selling more than they were previously".

His comments follow various positive house price indices that have shown the cost of housing is moving in an upward trajectory.

Nationwide Building Society and Halifax reported price hikes in May, while Hometrack and other online portals have commented on similar patterns.

"It is never going to be any better [to buy a house] than today,"explained Mr Law.
