MaryAnn Pearce, National Landlords Association (NLA) regional representative for London, has taken on a new role.

She will chair the Lambeth Private Sector Housing Forum, which addresses issues to do with the private rented sector in the south London borough.

According to the NLA, the forum works to improve poor housing in the region and maintain existing good property, as well as deal with issues such as landlord responsibilities and landlords rights.

Ms Pearce thinks that now is a good time to get involved because the government has recently announced it will soon be focusing some of its attention on the private rented sector, and has just given Ian Austin MP responsibility for this particular part of the housing industry.

The new chair said: "I plan to bring the forum, the NLA and Lambeth council together, addressing housing issues that not only affect Lambeth, but the private-rented sector as a whole."
