It is vital that private landlords have good inventories when setting up tenancy agreements, according to the National Landlords Association (NLA).

And this area of the private rented sector will be covered during one of the so-called break-out sessions at this month's NLA National Conference.

Malcom Pither, portfolio landlord and NLA trainer and regional representative, will be running the mini-conference on November 21st.

It will give attendees the opportunity to discuss issues relating to inventories and tenancy start-ups with someone who is an expert in this field.

Marketing the session, the NLA said: "Having the correct evidence is essential when making a successful claim for damages through the courts or alternative dispute resolution. Join this session to protect your investment."

Various other break-out gatherings will be taking place during the day, including one on the subject of property tax and another on health and safety.

The NLA National Conference runs from November 20th to 21st at the Holiday Inn, Birmingham.
