Many tenants and homeowners may not be satisfied with their home phone providers, it has been claimed.

This is according to the first annual Customer Satisfaction Awards.

Product director at the company Michael Phillips said: "There are still some stumbling blocks that home phone providers need to address if they are going to retain their customers in the long term."

Almost one in four people surveyed said that they would not recommend the provider of their home phone to a friend.

Furthermore, over one-third said that they want to switch providers in the next six months.

Customer service was noted alongside value for money as a consumer "aggravation".

The best provider overall was named as TalkTalk, which won in seven categories out of ten.

Sky was named number one for customer service. The company was named as a recognised supplier by the National Landlords Association in December, in an aim to make the digital switchover smoother for landlords.
