People are thinking of purchasing a property in the UK have been advised to spend time considering their options.

FirstRungNow.com stated that Britain can be described as a buyer's market for those who have the necessary funds available.

However, managing director Helen Adams said it would still be prudent for them to spend a few months researching the market before committing to a purchase.

She commented: "Look at the different options.

"It may be that this is a buying moment if you can buy well."

Ms Adams added that if people need to sell, prospective buyers could use it as an opportunity to negotiate a good deal.

The comments come after figures from Rightmove revealed that average house prices in the UK fell to £229,691 last month.

This is 4.9 per cent lower than the amount recorded a year earlier.
